Reason is that rfid card or keys of lock can be stolen password may be leaked. This system can prove very useful in housing buildings large offices universities and so on. However thumbnail of every human being is unique so lock will not open unless the same person is present to give the impression of fingerprint.

Fingerprint based door lock our proposed fingerprint based lock system is a reliable and very secure lock that will not only ensure safer environment but also ease lifestyle. In this project the fingerprint module from mixes biometrics is used. It can be controlled through its serial port. Because it offers the flexibility to add more features to the system.

For implementing this project we will be using the atmel atmega328p a fingerprint sensor gsm module.
